Our baby bird made it to the capital last week! She loved the Amtrak ride down and spending time with Nana (and one day with Grandpa) at the hotel, the National Harbor, and around the city.

Bennet even joined me at the National Academy of Sciences for an evening poster session. She was a hit with the population health scientists and even made a little friend during a networking event. (The last two pictures were actually taken by the official IAPHS photographer, Amy Hart.)

Bennet also got to meet some DC family and friends, including little Cullen Harrington and her cousin Kelly!

Then her dad joined us for a fun-packed weekend in Baltimore with Juncle and Aunt Annie. She loved watching the ND football game at their new house, exploring the pumpkin patch (mostly with her feet), and visiting Boordy Vineyards (where Junc and AA got engaged). How perfect is that wine bottle?
